The Circle of Welcome Ministry is underway!
Eight Oak Knoll members have been matched with a refugee family from Afghanistan who recently moved to Minneapolis. Circle of Welcome (CoW) is a ministry of Lutheran Social Services of MN that partners with congregations to help welcome and acclimate a refugee family to the Twin Cities.
Our congregation has made a $7000 commitment toward this resettlement along with planned weekly meetings of our Oak Knoll team with the family. Our goal is to help address their questions about living in the U.S., assist them in learning English, and show them various fun places in our community, so that they not only feel welcome but also can say they belong and that this is their home.
So far, we’ve been welcomed into their residence and shared conversation, as well as going on a walk and a visit to U.S. Bank Stadium for a free RV show.
Thank you for your prayers and ongoing support as we live out our mission statement of Growing the Fruits of the Kingdom through our love of our neighbors!
